After our trip to Heidelberg (where we spent the morning and ate lunch), we headed off to Baden-Baden, a resort town known for its baths. The students spent the afternoon in the baths while Ian, Sophie, a student who didn't want to go in due to allergies, and myself wandered around town. Ian and I decided to go back by ourselves sometime both for privacy for the students and ourselves.
Baden-Baden is definitely a resort town and most of the shops were geared toward the rich. We stopped in a small chocolate shop first, where we bought some fancy chocolate--Ian settled for a coffee-flavored bar and I was more adventurous with a dark chocolate with white pepper and cardamom. Interesting.
Sophie found this cute little dog and played around/on it for a while:

A memorial to Willy Brandt, a past chancellor of Germany. Ian is a fan of Willy Brandt, but still can't figure out why there was a memorial there for him.
