The Great Outdoors

Since it's been so rainy here lately, we've tried to take Sophie to the park whenever we can so she can run around and play. Here are a few pictures of Sophie playing in the various parks of Strasbourg:

She's not quite big enough to swing alone in the big kid swings, but she does enjoy swinging with Ian and I.

Sophie has become quite the mimic of big kids. She saw some older boys (who she seems to mimic the most) swinging from the bar above the swings and then sliding down. After that, this is the only way she'll go down a slide!

Playing peek-a-boo:

I realized that I never posted a picture of Strasbourg's carousel. It's a two-story carousel, and so far, Sophie has riden on a small horse (on the second level), a lion, a car, and a giraffe. Her goal is to ride each animal before we leave, and she's well on the way to doing so!

And finally, although this isn't outdoor play, this picture does depict one of her favorite outdoor activities--picking flowers! Rick, the previous director, brought Sophie three little pink roses the day before he left as a goodbye present. He knows our daughter well...she loved them!

I'll post some pictures of our trip to Konstanz, Germany either this evening or tomorrow!
