We know that it's been a week since we've posted anything. It's been a busy, but rather uninteresting week here, so there hasn't been much to post. Ian got right into the swing of things, and started working with the coordinator, Heidi, who had been on vacation when we arrived. He's had a lot to do to get ready for the students arrival in about a month. I have spent a lot of time cleaning up, catching up on two weeks of laundry, grocery shopping, etc. We did make a trip to Ikea to get some necessities, and Sophie officially joined a playgroup put on by the Americans in Alsace group. She spent two hours at a park on the other side of town on Friday digging in the sandbox!
On a funny note, Sophie has become more creative lately. I gave her a lunch consisting of a sandwich, some fruit and little chip-like crackers shaped like kangaroos (called Jumpys). I left the room briefly to refill her cup, and when I came back, her Jumpys had jumped right onto her sandwich. She was very proud of her accomplishment:
As an aside, Sophie has recently started a postcard collection (right now she just has a postcard of the Riesenrad, the giant ferris wheel in Vienna), so feel free to send her one of where you live or from any travels...she'll be decorating her walls with them, and right now her Riesenrad is very lonely... ;-)
